Chambers Street

I found this subterranean gem quite by accident.

It serves the J and Z subway lines, trains I rarely take.

It is part of the same station complex that houses the Brooklyn Bridge stop on the 4, 5 and 6 lines.

Signal trouble on my usual commute one evening sent me in search of an alternate route. I stumbled on Chambers Street and was captivated.

While several of the platforms are closed off, the place still radiates a certain haunting energy.
